We get asked all the time, “Who’s Joanne?” The simplest answer is she’s our mother. She was and always will be the inspiration behind our success as the matriarch of la famiglia.

Our parents first met in New York in 1958, both newly immigrated teenagers from Sicily.

They were the classic love story: A strong work ethic combined with traditional multi-generational Italian recipes meant they could accomplish anything together.

They opened their first pizzeria in Brooklyn in 1964. She created most of the menu items our customers love so much, based on her culinary skills and tried-and-true Italian family recipes. Naturally my dad would name it after her: Joanne’s Pizza.
